Originally from Canada, I have lived in Spokane since 2005, where my husband and I raised our two sons. My first degree was a Master of Music in piano performance and musicology. After a career as a pianist and teacher, I pivoted toward the field of mental health, which initially arose out of my interest in performance anxiety. I received an MS degree in Counselor Education from Eastern Washington University and initially worked in EWU’s counseling center as a mental health therapist for university students. I joined Excelsior Wellness Center as a WISe and outpatient therapist, working with children, teens, and adults, before transferring to Excelsior Family Medicine in 2021.
Besides working with anxiety, I am invested in helping people work through trauma using evidence-based interventions. I am an EMDR therapist trained in TF-CBT, CBT+, ACT, and MBCT. I am committed to meeting the individual where they are and may use a sand tray, equine-facilitated, play, group, art, and other expressive therapy interventions as appropriate.
I believe that healing and positive change can be realized within the safety of a warm, accepting therapeutic alliance. My goal is to come alongside you to help you explore and process your inner experience, using my professional lens to help you cope with difficulties, embrace your autonomy, and move towards a more meaningful life.
