Shannon Mancini LMHC, NCC, CCTP, was born and raised in Northwest Washington. Shannon attended Western Washington University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1982. Shannon then accompanied her military spouse to a wide variety of locations both within and outside of the United States. While stationed in Virginia Shannon was finally afforded the opportunity to start and finish her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, graduating with honors from Chi Sigma Iota in 2012. She received a National Certified Counselor status in 2011.
Shannon began working at Childhelp in 2011, followed by a position at Graydon Manor; both designated residential treatment centers for children. She was offered a job at Grafton Integrated Health Network (a residential treatment facility for children) and remained there until 2017. While at Grafton, Shannon was afforded valuable training opportunities such as the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. The client population at Grafton allowed Shannon to work with children with a wide spectrum of diagnoses.
In 2017 Shannon returned to the Northwest to be closer to her aging parents. She and her husband settled in Spokane and she began working at Excelsior Wellness Center. Shannon worked in the outpatient setting with many clients involved in the WISe program since 2019. Shannon believes that trauma has a pervasive impact on clients and when addressed can provide the pathway to healing. Since returning to Spokane, Shannon has acquired training to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Clinical Supervisor Training. Returning to Washington has been fabulous, the city of Spokane offers a wide variety of things to do and see. Shannon raises therapy bunnies and takes pleasure in growing an extensive variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. She enjoys the friends she has made here and the relaxed pace of the community.
